Our History

Fontaine Construction was started about 15 years ago by Ryan Fontaine and was primarily a vinyl siding installation company which catered to builders and contractors. As we have evolved over the years, we still do vinyl siding, but offer many other services as well. We no longer just cater to builders and contractors, but to homeowners as well.

We have added services such as window installations, metal roof applications, remodels and custom porches. Ryan has always strived to give people the best possible quality at a reasonable price.

In 1974, Dr. Davis Clark brought Dr. Preston Clark to Concord to create Concord Orthopaedic Professional Association. As more and more patients of the greater Concord community came to depend on the quality service and unparalleled orthopaedic care, Concord Orthopaedics grew.

The practice hired more specialty orthopaedic physicians and rheumatologists, creating a group of highly skilled and talented physicians who specialize in specific areas of orthopaedics. Each physician concentrates in his or her area of expertise, developing skills and experience that would not otherwise be possible. As time went by, there was an effort to recruit more than one physician in most specialties, allowing the physicians to seek the opinions of additional experts within the practice.

In 1995, the existing space in Concord, New Hampshire increased from 10,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet. The new space included an ambulatory (“day”) Orthopaedic Surgery Center providing surgical and spinal injection procedures.

For over 20 years, Concord Orthopaedics has served the New London community with orthopaedic care on the campus of New London Hospital.

In 2003, Concord Orthopaedics opened an office in Derry, New Hampshire. In January 2012, a second Orthopaedic Surgery Center was opened in Derry.

In 2008, the total joint surgery team at Concord Orthopaedics introduced the Anterior Hip replacement, a minimally invasive surgical technique that benefits the patient with a faster recovery, less hospitalization time, less pain and decreased post-operative physical therapy leading to a faster return to normal activities.

In 2012, Concord Orthopaedics opened a satellite office in Windham, New Hampshire at the site of Derry Medical Center and Southern New Hampshire Internal Medicine. This satellite office will be expanded into a new facility that is expected to open in the fall of 2013.

Today, Concord Orthopaedics has grown to included 25 physicians and 12 physician assistants and 2 nurse practitioners. Enviro-Tote began operations in Manchester’s historic Millyard and purchased stitching equipment from garment giant Pandora, which was going out of business after providing decades of work to local stitchers. In addition to recycling Pandora’s stitching machines, we also hired Pandora stitchers, most are still with our company today.

Ryan Carrier is the President and CEO of his two businesses Carrier Electric, Inc., and Loudon Mechanical, Inc. Ryan graduated from Manchester School of Technology and before opening his businesses in 2017, managed the Electrical Division at Heritage Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric. Governor Walter Harriman approved the charter of Merrimack County Savings Bank on July 2, 1867. Subsequently, in 1899, the two banks moved to the Board of Trade Building at the northwest corner of School and Main Streets sharing a lobby on the first floor of that building. In 1952, Merrimack moved into the remodeled Columbian block immediately to the north of the Board of Trade Building. Eventually, as the bank grew and its space need multiplied, the bank repurchased the Board of Trade Building and today the headquarters and main office occupy space that was once the two buildings.
